Yesterday was amazing!
I wasn't expecting to accomplish so much yesterday. Picked up by arthur @730am, then picked up cheryl & mae and headed up to Cypress to meet up with the rest of them. 1st time at cypress and damn, it was beautiful. Stuck to the green run for a while so everyone could get used to it. Ate at the bar, and went back but headed up a different run. Next few runs our group got larger, 15 of us to be exact. So slowly we separated. I buddied up with arthur and we did another 4 runs, and within those runs we weren't held back. We got to experiment with our speed and confidence. It was only when i slowed that i would get scared and bail. So fast was the way to go. Finally being completely confident in my ability to carve then would i start riding up the side of the slopes, and "amateurly" (not even a word) would i make bigger attempts to hit up the jumps! Nothing to crazy right now. I need to buy a helmet first, don't want to get into a concussion or anything. Near the end of our stay we reunited with Ian, Krist & Virn & went down the Blue runs. Man was it ever steep! You get to the top and attempt to look at the run down, and literally all you see is DOWN, hahahaha! And it was fresh powder snow because everyone else would be going down the safe green runs. If you were to trip and tumble, you're tumbling down the rest of that run! So yeah it was pretty frightening at first but after getting over that 1st run, the rest was a piece of cake! Oh man it felt so good to conquer that with no fear. All i could think about was how dope it felt to be on top of the mountain having a great time. The fresh powder was the cherry on top of the cake. Carving on powder is beautiful, and even if you did happen to land on your but, your landing on fresh soft snow. Absolutely no worries. So in love with boarding right now.
Can't wait to go up to Seymour tomorrow :)
